A little village totally off the tourist loop with hiking, wine and character
Saint-Jeannet perches beneath the towering Baou de la Gaude, its limestone face a guardian behind the village and a magnet for locals who know every sunlit scramble. From the honey-colored lanes the land falls in rolling hills down to the Mediterranean, a sweep of nature that invites slow footsteps and a deliberate, off-the-tourist-loop calm. Here an authentic Provençal pace prevails — quiet streets, no tourists blocking the view — and evenings are made for sun-aged local wines on a low wall as you relax and listen to cicadas. It feels less like a postcard and more like a kindly secret shared by a neighbor: lyrical light, easy trails, and small comforts that make you stay longer than you planned.
There really aren't any 'true' luxury hotels in the village of Saint-Jeannet. If you need luxury, rent a luxury house in the surrounding hills — there are nice options on Airbnb or VRBO that book up early. If you're OK staying closer to Vence, check out Château Saint-Martin & Spa.
While you may find lodging with a 'sea view' in this town, you are far away from the beach — this is not the place to stay for a beach vacation. Few hotels in the region offer pools, but you may find a house rental with one.

Visit WebsiteYou can walk every alley in the center of Saint-Jeannet in just a couple of hours. Stop along the way to enjoy views over the hills or up at the ginormous Baou looming over the village. Steep, winding, with lots of dead ends.
Find a bar, café, bench or wall and watch the sun sink over the distant horizon. Built on a hill, the village offers endless spots to soak it in.
Trails up are clearly visible on Google Maps from the village. Trust us — take the long trail up the back side, then return by the very steep short path down the front. Aim for the viewpoint marked 'Baou de la Gaude' on Google Maps.

Two family-owned vineyards welcome visitors by advance reservation: Vignoble Rasse Saint-Jeannet and Vignoble Saint Jeannet — Domaine des Hautes Collines (both at 800 Chem. des Sausses; to reach Rasse, drive past Domaine des Hautes Collines down the dirt road).
Vignoble RassePlenty of villages are within easy reach of Saint-Jeannet, either as a destination or a stop on your way up the mountains. A car is highly recommended — bus service is very limited and there is no rail. Guided day tours covering several perched villages exist if you're short on time or budget, but they rarely offer the slow pace this region rewards.
