Medieval perched village with fewer crowds
High above the Gorges du Loup, Tourrettes-sur-Loup is the kind of medieval perched village you dreamed the Côte d'Azur still hid — stone alleys winding between artisan ateliers, sunlit squares scented with violets, and views that drop straight down to the Mediterranean on a clear day. Time slows here. You'll trade the buzz of the coast for the rhythm of village life: an espresso in a tiny café, a long lunch behind a vine-covered doorway, an aimless wander past honey-stone houses where painters, potters and weavers still keep the gates open. It's a town built for the simple pleasure of arriving and doing very little — exactly as the South of France was meant to be experienced.
There are no "true" luxury hotels in Tourrettes-sur-Loup itself — for that level, rent a luxury villa in the surrounding hills (book early on Airbnb or VRBO) or stay just down the road near Vence.

You may find lodgings advertising a "sea view", but you are far from the coast — this is not the place for a beach vacation. Few hotels offer pools; a private villa rental is your best bet.

Pretty much every option in and around Tourrettes drips with character — old bastides, perched B&Bs and stone village houses tucked into the alleys.

A car is highly recommended — buses are very limited and there is no rail. Guided day tours covering several perched villages exist if you're short on time, but they rarely offer the slow pace this region rewards.
